Overview

BSc Sustainable Urban Development focuses on making growing cities more liveable, resilient, inclusive and environmentally responsible. What you will study

You study urban governance, sustainable cities, housing, transport, land use, waste management, climate resilience, environmental planning and urban economics. You also build practical skills in spatial analysis, urban data, community engagement, project planning, policy development and sustainability assessment.

Career prospects

You can become an urban development officer, city planner, sustainability consultant, housing project officer, urban resilience specialist or transport and infrastructure analyst. Employers include local assemblies, the Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority, real estate developers, engineering firms, urban policy organisations, NGOs and international agencies working on cities and infrastructure.

Who this programme may suit

You thrive if you are interested in cities, public policy, design, infrastructure and improving everyday urban life. You should enjoy working across disciplines, analysing complex problems and engaging with diverse communities.
