Overview

BSc Aerospace Engineering applies engineering science to the design, manufacture, testing and operation of aircraft, spacecraft and related systems. Although Ghana’s aerospace sector is developing, the programme gives you advanced skills relevant to aviation, drones, defence, satellite services and international engineering industries.

What you will study

You study aerodynamics, aircraft structures, propulsion, flight mechanics, avionics, control systems, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and computer-aided design. Laboratory work, modelling, programming, systems engineering and design projects help you analyse and develop safe, efficient aerospace systems.

Career prospects

You can pursue roles such as aerospace design engineer, avionics engineer, flight systems engineer, maintenance planning engineer, drone systems engineer or research engineer. Employers and sectors may include Ghana’s aviation industry, Ghana Airports Company, Ghana Air Force, aircraft maintenance organisations, satellite and geospatial companies, and international firms such as Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce or space agencies after meeting relevant professional requirements.

Who this programme may suit

You thrive if you are strong in mathematics and physics and fascinated by flight, space, machines and complex systems. Precision, curiosity, computer skills and the discipline to follow strict safety standards are vital.
