Overview
HND Mechanical Engineering Technology gives you practical skills for maintaining and improving machinery used in industry, transport, construction and energy. At Tamale Technical University, the programme can support technical development across Northern Ghana’s agriculture, agro-processing, construction, mining and public infrastructure sectors.
What you will study
The programme covers engineering mathematics, drawing, mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials, machine design, workshop technology and manufacturing. You gain practical experience in fabrication, machining, maintenance, fault diagnosis, equipment inspection and computer-aided technical design.
Career prospects
You can pursue roles including mechanical engineering technician, agricultural machinery technician, maintenance technician, production supervisor, workshop manager or field service technician. Opportunities exist with agro-processing firms, construction companies, mining operations, transport businesses, equipment suppliers and government infrastructure projects in Ghana and abroad.
