Overview

You develop the knowledge needed to purchase goods and services responsibly and ensure they reach organisations at the right time, cost and quality. The programme is valuable in Ghana because effective procurement supports public services, construction, manufacturing, mining, healthcare and private-sector growth while reducing waste and supply disruptions.

What you will study

You study procurement principles, contract management, sourcing, supplier evaluation, logistics, warehousing, inventory management and supply-chain strategy. You also develop skills in negotiation, tendering, purchasing law, ethics, cost analysis and digital procurement systems.

Career prospects

You can become a procurement officer, buyer, contracts administrator, sourcing specialist, logistics officer or supply-chain manager with organisations such as Ghana Health Service, Ghana Grid Company, mining firms, construction companies and multinational manufacturers. You may also work with procurement consultancies, international NGOs, development agencies and global supply-chain companies.

Who this programme may suit

You are likely to do well if you are organised, careful with details and confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues. Students who enjoy negotiation, planning, fairness and commercial decision-making often thrive.
