What you will study
You study constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, tort law, land law, family law, commercial law, legal methods and Ghanaian legal systems. You also develop skills in legal research, case analysis, advocacy, drafting and ethical decision-making.
Career prospects
You can work as a lawyer after completing the required professional legal training and qualifying through the appropriate Ghanaian processes, or pursue roles such as legal officer, compliance officer, court administrator, policy analyst and human rights advocate. Potential employers and sectors include law firms, the Legal Aid Commission, courts, government ministries, district assemblies, banks, NGOs and international development organisations.
Who this programme may suit
You will thrive if you enjoy reading, reasoning, debate and careful analysis, and if you can communicate clearly under pressure. Integrity, patience, confidence and a strong interest in justice will help you succeed.
