BSc Mathematics provides a broad and rigorous foundation in pure and applied mathematics, preparing you for careers that depend on clear reasoning and quantitative analysis. In Ghana’s growing digital, financial and scientific economy, these skills can open doors well beyond traditional teaching roles.
What you will study
You study calculus, linear algebra, analysis, algebra, differential equations, probability, statistics, numerical analysis and mathematical modelling. You learn to construct proofs, analyse data, use computational methods and translate complex problems into workable solutions.
Career prospects
You can become a mathematician, data scientist, statistician, actuary, teacher, financial analyst, operations researcher or software and analytics specialist. Opportunities include banks, insurance companies, telecom firms, technology startups, research institutions, schools and international consulting organisations.
Who this programme may suit
You are suited to this programme if you enjoy abstract ideas, patterns and tackling problems with no immediate obvious answer. You need patience, strong concentration, logical thinking and a willingness to keep learning.
