Overview
HND Fashion Design and Clothing Technology develops your ability to design, produce and manage contemporary clothing and fashion products. At Kumasi Technical University, you can build practical skills for Ghana's growing fashion, garment manufacturing and creative enterprise sectors while developing your own design identity.
What you will study
You study fashion illustration, design principles, textiles, pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing technology, fashion history, clothing production and quality control. You also practise styling, computer-aided design, entrepreneurship, merchandising and presenting collections for different markets.
Career prospects
You can work as a fashion designer, pattern cutter, garment technologist, production supervisor, stylist, fashion illustrator or clothing entrepreneur. Opportunities exist in fashion houses, garment factories, bridal and uniform businesses, retail brands, film and television production, and independent labels serving Ghanaian and international customers.
