Overview
HND Fashion Design and Clothing Technology gives you hands-on training to create, construct and manage clothing for individual and commercial markets. At Accra Technical University, the programme can prepare you for opportunities in Ghana's fashion, apparel, events and creative industries, including work with local and international clients.
What you will study
You study fashion design, illustration, textiles, pattern making, garment construction, sewing machinery, production planning, fashion promotion and clothing technology. Practical projects help you develop skills in collection development, quality assurance, computer-aided design, merchandising and fashion business management.
Career prospects
You can become a fashion designer, garment technologist, pattern maker, stylist, sample maker, production manager or fashion entrepreneur. You may work with clothing manufacturers, fashion studios, event and media companies, retail businesses, schools and uniform suppliers, or build a brand for Ghanaian and overseas markets.
