Overview
HND Agricultural Technology equips you with practical skills for managing farms and supporting farmers across Ghana’s diverse agricultural regions. The programme is worth pursuing because it can lead to employment, self-employment and opportunities to improve productivity, food supply and rural incomes.
What you will study
You cover crop production, livestock production, soils, farm power and machinery, agricultural extension, farm business management and agricultural marketing. Through practical training, you learn to plan farm activities, diagnose production problems, maintain records and apply improved technologies.
Career prospects
You can become an agricultural technician, farm manager, extension assistant, production supervisor, agro-input sales officer or agribusiness operator. Career opportunities are available in commercial agriculture, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, seed and fertiliser companies, NGOs, agro-processing firms and farmer cooperatives.
