You cover crop and livestock production, soil management, agricultural engineering, farm economics, extension, irrigation and farm business planning. Practical work develops your ability to operate and manage farms, identify production problems, keep records and recommend suitable technologies.

Career prospects

You can work as an agricultural technician, farm manager, extension assistant, field officer, crop production supervisor or agribusiness entrepreneur. Opportunities exist with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Savannah agricultural projects, commercial farms, agro-input companies, NGOs, farmer cooperatives and food-processing businesses.
