Overview
HND Agricultural Technology gives you hands-on training to support efficient crop, livestock and farm enterprise production. It is a practical route into Ghana’s agriculture sector, where skilled technicians are needed to improve yields, manage farms and strengthen food and agribusiness value chains.
What you will study
You study crop husbandry, animal husbandry, soil science, farm machinery, agricultural extension, farm management and basic agricultural economics. Practical sessions and field experience help you develop skills in planting, animal care, pest control, farm records, production planning and farmer advisory services.
Career prospects
You can work as an agricultural technician, farm supervisor, extension assistant, field officer, livestock assistant or crop production assistant. Employers may include the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, commercial farms, agro-input dealers, food processors, agricultural NGOs and farmer-based organisations, or you can establish your own farm enterprise.
