Overview
You learn to support the planning, construction and maintenance of essential civil infrastructure in Ghana and beyond. With practical training and engineering foundations, you can contribute to safer roads, stronger structures, effective drainage and improved urban development.
What you will study
The programme covers surveying, structural principles, construction technology, soil mechanics, hydraulics, transportation, water engineering, materials testing and technical drawing. You also develop skills in site supervision, project documentation, cost estimation, quality assurance, computer-aided design and occupational safety.
Career prospects
You can pursue roles including civil engineering technician, site supervisor, laboratory technician, roads technician, drainage technician or construction coordinator. Employers may include construction contractors, port and industrial projects in the Western Region, Ghana Highway Authority contractors, local assemblies and international engineering consultancies.
