Overview
You learn to help plan, construct and maintain civil engineering works that improve transport, housing, drainage and public services. The programme is relevant to Ghana’s continuing development and gives you practical skills for supporting resilient infrastructure in Sunyani and beyond.
What you will study
You study surveying, structural technology, construction materials, soil mechanics, hydraulics, roads, water systems, technical drawing and project management. Practical training develops your skills in site investigation, setting out, materials testing, estimating, computer-aided design, supervision and safety.
Career prospects
You can pursue jobs as a civil engineering technician, site supervisor, materials-testing technician, roads technician, construction assistant or works inspector. You may work with construction contractors, road agencies, municipal and district assemblies, consulting firms, utility projects and international development organisations.
