Overview
You develop the technical ability to support the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, buildings, drainage and water infrastructure. The programme combines engineering theory with practical work, preparing you for Ghana’s expanding construction and public-works sector.
What you will study
Key areas include surveying, construction materials, structural technology, soil mechanics, hydraulics, transportation, water and sanitation, engineering drawing and construction management. You also learn site supervision, materials testing, cost estimation, computer-aided design, quality assurance and occupational safety.
Career prospects
You can work as a civil engineering technician, site supervisor, laboratory technician, roads technician, drainage technician or project coordinator. Career paths include construction firms, road contractors, Ho and regional assemblies, utility projects, consulting practices and international infrastructure programmes.
